Oh, So Worth It! Founded in February 2016, Worth Takeaway is a boutique restaurant specializing in craft sandwiches. The restaurant began as a cool place to go in downtown Mesa with good food to enjoy. Since then, Worth Takeaway has grown beyond that to push the culinary limits on what a sandwich can be. You may not have known you needed a neighborhood “spot,” but now you’ve got one—Worth Takeaway!
A Community Partner. Worth Takeaway believes in using only the highest quality, locally-sourced ingredients. They know that connecting and partnering with other local businesses helps the community grow and also helps each business be more successful by cross-promoting each other.
Menu: Worth Takeaway serves Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner. They offer a large variety of sandwiches, like Buffalo Chicken, Italian Grinder, and Spicy Pork. An all-day breakfast menu includes items, such as Pastrami Croque Madame, Chicken Veggie Hash, and Granola + Yogurt + Jam. Seasonal soup is available, as well as a beverage menu. And don’t forget House Made Banana Pudding for dessert! Be sure to ask about vegetarian and vegan options.
For kids, Worth Takeaway offers PB+J, Chicken Tender Bites, and Grilled Cheese, all served with an order of chips.
Catering: Worth Takeaway boasts a variety of catering offerings, including Sandwiches, Salads, and Banana Pudding for dessert. When possible, please provide 24 hours notice with catering requests.
Meet the Owners: Worth Takeaway owners, Kelsey and Jim Bob Strothers, were tired of having to leave Mesa for food options. And they wanted to help build up their neighborhood.
Before opening Worth Takeaway, Kelsey and Jim Bob took some time off from their restaurant jobs to travel and spend time together. The couple visited Europe’s east coast and noticed that a lot of the restaurants there were really small delis, but they did very well. Kelsey and Jim Bob took that idea back to Mesa and later opened Worth Takeaway. Today, their business is growing and has expanded into the space next door for increased seating area.

“Popped into to this elegantly simple place for lunch with my husband today. It was delicious! I had the Cuban and the meat was perfectly paired with the pickles which rendered an amazingly delicious experience. The ciabatta was fresh and very big and the chips were homemade and melt in your mouth. “Was in town on business and did a quick Google search for “new restaurants 85201” and Worth Takeaway came up. I quickly read the menu and a few reviews and asked my 2 co-workers if they would like to join me for a business lunch. Our local office staff will definitely put this place on the regular rotation. And whenever I am in town, I will definitely be stopping by for some grub. I was torn between the Croque Madame’ and the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich and it was suggested by the nice woman behind the counter that I put an egg on the buffalo chicken. So, I did.
