Photo Editor Standard Operating Procedure

Grab 8 photos from the customer’s website, FB, Yelp, Google Maps, or Instagram. The descriptions below will help you choose which photos to use. Also look at the business listings on our site to get a better idea of what we are looking for.

You will resize them and rename the files to these specs:

  • MAIN: One main image that best captures what the company is about. A store frontage photo works well here if you can find one (their Google Maps page is a good place to find this). Service businesses usually don’t have a  good store front, so use something else like their truck, etc.
    720 x 380 pixels.
Name this file: Spend It In CITY ST – BUSINESS NAME main.jpg
  • INSET: One smaller image that we will be using alongside the text on the page.
300 x 300 pixels (narrower is fine but it needs to be 300 pixels tall.
Name this file: Spend It In CITY ST BUSINESS NAME inset.jpg
  • GALLERY: The remaining 6 will be images for a photo gallery.
    900 x 600 pixels.
Name these files: Spend It In CITY BUSINESS NAME 1.jpg, Spend It In CITY ST BUSINESS NAME 2.jpg, etc.

All images (except for the inset image) are in landscape format – wider than they are tall. If the pictures you grab are in portrait format or tall and thin, then do the blurred background effect where you size the photo to fit the format, blur it slightly, then add a new copy of the same image on top of it. For examples, see this business listing on our website: Xtend Yourself Salon – click here
