About. Sugar and Chip AZ owner, Shannon Melde, has been baking for over 25 years. Though Shannon went to culinary school, she found that it took the fun out of baking; she decided that being a chef just wasn’t for her. Even so, Shannon still loved baking, so she continued to hone her craft on her own. Her friends always raved about her creations and told her she should sell her cookies.
As her kids got older, Shannon decided it was time to open her own home-based cookie bakery. Sugar and Chip AZ was born, and ever since they’ve been serving up yummy creations that customers love.
Unique. Unlike other cookies, Sugar and Chip cookies are unique. In fact, they’re cake-like soft cookies, giving them an amazing texture with a great flavor. Plus, they’re not your typical cookie—they have NO preservatives and NO artificial flavors. What’s more, Sugar and Chip doesn’t use generic ingredients. Instead, they opt for only the best in name brand ingredients, like Ghirardelli chocolate/cocoa and Nielsen-Massey vanillas.
