About. Old Cove Canoe & Kayak is proud to offer high-quality float trips along the peaceful Meramec River! Because Old Cove Canoe & Kayak is located in Saint Clair, it’s convenient for folks living in Union and Washington to find serenity along the flowing waterway. Saint Clair is an easy drive from anywhere in the St. Louis metro area, making it a perfect weekend getaway or day trip for you and your crew!

Hours of Operation. Old Cove Canoe & Kayak is open weekends, Friday to Sunday. That said, they’re happy to open during the week if you have a group of over 20 people or larger (and it’s nice to have the river to yourself on weekdays!). As for start times, floaters can start their trip anytime between 9:00 a.m. and noon, offering customers plenty of convenience. 

Trip Lengths. Old Cove Canoe & Kayak offers different trip lengths for its valued clients! They have both short and long trips. The long trip is for canoes and kayaks only, and the more experienced floaters who enjoy a fair amount of exercise. You can book a short trip with rafts, canoes, and kayaks and still be on the water all day, as you’ll have time to stop and swim, picnic, and just enjoy the serenity. 

Customer Service. At Old Cove Canoe & Kayak, customer service is always their number one priority! They’re an “old school” company dedicated to being float trip specialists without all the zip lines, gift shops, or horseback riding. With Old Cove Canoe & Kayak, the team does one thing well, and people enjoy it, returning again and again!

Fast.Old Cove Canoe & Kayak also prides itself on its fast service! In fact, most customers are on the water floating within 30 minutes of arriving, giving them plenty of time to enjoy all the Meramec River has to offer.

Booking. Old Cove Canoe & Kayak’s season starts one week before Memorial Day and goes to mid-September. For heightened convenience, you can even book your trip on their website! 

Walk-ins are welcome if we have the resources. However, it is recommended that you call first if you don’t have a prior reservation.
