When you’re looking to heal from your past or current traumas, hurts, or whatever else is holding you back in life, choosing a counselor who cares about y-o-u is important. Luckily, you’ll find client-focused care in a supportive, healing environment when you visit Leap Counseling in Lansing, Kansas!
About. Diana Williams (LSCSW, CCTP) began Leap Counseling back in 2019. Diana has been a social worker for more than 10 years, so she’s experienced with navigating a variety of settings. Not to mention, she’s been practicing therapy for the last 11 years. Diana really got her start, though, when she became a community partner serving Wyandotte students. Now—in Lansing—Diana happily serves a wide range of clients.
Trauma. Have you experienced trauma—in the past or present? Then let Diana help! She specializes in treating individuals who’ve experienced trauma, where she teaches them how to self-regulate by gaining the ability to calm their own nervous system. Diana uses a symptom-based approach, where she’ll train you to bring your mind back into the present so that it uses the parasympathetic nervous system.
What is PSNS? The parasympathetic nervous system (PSNS) is part of the autonomic nervous system. The PSNS is responsible for the body’s “rest and digest” functions, which includes conserving energy and maintaining basic bodily processes (which includes heart rate, digestion, and salivation during relaxed states). PSNS serves as the counterpart to the “fight or flight” sympathetic nervous system, so learning how to manage your past experiences via PSNS can help you find total-body wellness. In fact, the PSNS helps return the body to a calm, balanced state by decreasing heart rate, constricting pupils and airways, and stimulating digestive functions. As a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTS-I), Diana and the Leap Counseling team are here to help you find true, lasting healing!
FREE Consultations. Diana is honored to offer you a FREE 30 minute consultation! The consultation involves three steps: a meet and greet so you can get to know each other and see if you “mesh,” educating you about the basics of self-regulation techniques, and finding out how trauma has you “stuck.” If you’re interested in finding healing and continuing on in the journey, then Diana will take you through the intake process and devise an individualized plan to help you.
Classes. Diana also offers once-a-month classes for the community! Throughout the sessions, Diana will cover a variety of topics, including seasonal depression. These group sessions with a low fee are a great way to learn more about your mental wellness and Leap Counseling!
Leap Counseling has expertise in a variety of areas, which includes working with adolescents (ages 15+) and offering couples therapy (where individuals learn how to co-regulate)!
Help for All. Diana is bi-lingual in both English and Spanish, which is just another way she’s dedicated to helping clients of different backgrounds. What’s more, Diana has 2 interns on staff (one of whom is bilingual) that offer counseling at a reduced cost, which makes it an excellent option for clients without insurance. Plus, Diana understands that counseling looks different for everyone, which is why she offers both virtual and in-person counseling.

Leap Counseling Reviews
“Diana was very helpful and compassionate with what I told her about my life. The exercises she taught me have helped me deal with what I had going on. She suggested a book that also was very helpful. I’ve had a few other therapist but never any like Diana. She’s made a tremendous difference, she is amazing! I am grateful to have her as my therapist. I would recommend her to anyone who is seeking healing and changes.” -D.D.

“I can’t begin to describe how much Diana has helped me. She teaches her patients how to heal inside and out, I’ve gone to multiple therapist and although I did receive help I’ve never actually learned to heal myself like I’m learning with Diana, it all seems like a new language that makes clear sense. Coming to Diana has been the best decision I have made!” -Maria F.

“Diana is amazing! I had been going to another therapist for a year and a half before going to Leap. The difference in styles of therapy has been super helpful. I feel like I’ve learned so much and have benefited from sessions with her in only a few weeks. I can’t wait to see where I’ll be in a few months! I am very grateful to have been referred to her and completely trust that she will also be teaching my teenagers so much that will benefit them for the rest of their lives!” -Ja E.

“Therapy with Diana changed my life. Since doing therapy with her I am a happier human being. She taught me that I have control over my emotions and everything I needed to know about self regulation. I used to be chronically depressed and angry until I learned about the other versions of myself.” -Sara V.

“Diana is someone to listen to your issues and truly help problem solve to find solutions, she will listen to your patterns and help you see them to improve yourself worth. Seeing a therapist in person is much better than “telehealth” or “phone calls” therapy. Being in person allows the therapist to see and read body language much more than just tone of voice. And if you want one, a hug or a hand to hold while you cry.” -Christa K.
