Meet the Owner: Hub Heating and Cooling owner, Todd Arnell, says he joined the HVAC industry because he didn’t like college. “A friend of mine went to UTI, which is a refrigeration school here in Phoenix. When he got out, I started helping him work on stuff,” Todd explains. “I enjoyed it, and I enjoyed helping him. So I started going to school for it.” Once Todd graduated, he took a job with a local company and has been learning ever since!

“I love commercial work and residential work,” Todd explains. “I do refrigeration, walk-in coolers, freezers, restaurant stuff. That’s where I’m a little bit different. A lot of guys just stick with residential for years. Then they go to commercial, and then they sit there for years. I did residential. Then I went into restaurants. Then I did residential again for 9 or 10 years. And then I got into restaurants. I did that for about six years. Then I went into commercial work where I was dealing with high rises and cooling towers. And so I did that for eight or nine years, and then I came back to residential.” As a result, Todd now has a broad base of knowledge and always knows exactly what to do—no matter what the job is!
“I have a lot of years under my belt in this trade, so I know how to do things the right way,” Todd says. “I know what works and what doesn’t.” According to Todd, that doesn’t mean that other ways aren’t right. He just generally has a different view of looking at a particular job versus a guy who has only been in the HVAC industry for 10 years or so.
