“It’s Your Money – Spend It In Peoria.”
Coast to Coast Barnwood. With its rustic beauty, historic barn wood can enhance any home. When you’re in the market for barn lumber for your next project, use Coast to Coast Barnwood in Peoria, Arizona!
How It Began. Coast to Coast Barnwood owner, Jamie Rhodes, was a realtor for 22 years. Jamie was also a general contractor, flipping homes, performing remodels, and more (he has a lot of experience with remodeling). One day, Jamie received a phone call from a friend who had a connection with a great supplier where they could obtain old barn wood. However, at the time, old barn wood was difficult to buy in small quantities for his remodeling projects. So Jamie purchased a truck load, used what he needed, then sold the rest immediately. Jamie then bought even more truckloads, which kept selling. Knowing he was onto a great idea, Jamie started Coast to Coast Barnwood!
Coast to Coast Barnwood was voted “Best in Valley 2020.”

Historic Wood. Coast to Coast Barnwood obtains their historic wood from old Ohio, Tennessee, and Kentucky river valley barns. These barns include tobacco barns, farm barns, and more. Coast to Coast Barnwood’s lumber is not farm raised. Instead, both nature and time creates a gorgeous product that cannot be duplicated. Quite simply, the environment (water, temp, humidity, etc.) acts to create unique wood pieces. For example, limestone rich water in the Appalachians produces a unique white shaded wood.
Discover Its Age. Ready to find out how old your barn wood is? No problem! You can actually tell how old the wood is by the marks on it. Early settler wood (pre-industrial revolution) will feature hand-hewn or water mill marks. Post-industrial revolution wood beams and mantles, though, will show circular saw marks.
Species. Coast to Coast Barnwood offers some of the following species of wood:
- Oak
- Poplar
- Beech
- Birch
- Maple
- American Chestnut (which is extinct)
About Coast to Coast Barnwood. It’s important to note that Coast to Coast Barnwood is NOT a wood worker, as they sell the reclaimed barn wood to hobbyists and contractors. It can be hard to work with in its raw form. Regardless, Coast to Coast Barnwood does sell wood raw, though they can also re-saw it into rough boards. Coast to Coast Barnwood’s products are great and DIY-friendly, which folks love to use for walls and other projects. In fact, Coast to Coast Barnwood has 2×6, 2×8, and other dimensional products available, too.
Customers can also get a selection of colored wood from stained or painted old barns, such as red, black, and white. Interestingly, people once used rust for reds and lime for white. The gray wood that everyone loves comes from naturally UV-aged wood, and it’s not stained. What’s more, Coast to Coast Barnwood sticks with one supplier for uniformity. This means you can get more of the same wood if you need it—it will match!
