Meet the Owner: Be The Dream LLC owner, Zen Benefiel, has been doing “life coaching” for most of his life. It just comes naturally for him. He received early training from his Dad, who always encouraged Zen to “Look for what needs to be done.”
Zen went through a devastating period in his late 20s-early 30s, losing his job and going through a divorce at the same time. He found himself totally starting life over. Zen chose to do it with more heart-centeredness, not succumbing to what people were telling him that he should do.
Moving Forward. Zen later did a TV show called “One World” about people facing and dealing with their fears. It ran for 3 years with 120 shows, and Zen interviewed 180 people. He also went back and earned his MBA and a teaching certificate. He has life coaching certificates from the Southwest Institute of Healing Arts and their association with Coach U at the time in 2004. Additionally, Zen earned a second master’s degree in organizational management and wrote a business plan for a new kind of school; it turns out the concept for the school was a bit ahead of its time. In 2004, after graduating from SWIHA’s Life Coaching certification, Zen launched BeTheDream.com.
Today, Zen utilizes his life experience, along with his past skills across multiple industries as a team leader to bring about change in people and organizations. He has a natural empathy for others and is in tune with other people. Zen was born to offer life coaching to others. It just fits. Zen shares this advice: “Slow down. Get quiet. Ask better questions. Then just listen and observe what shows up.”

“Zen is a fantastic coach. He possesses an in depth business knowledge and deep eternal wisdom. Zen helped me find that “knowing” that will allow me to make smart and informed business and life decisions. I’m sure we will work with each other again in the future.”—David O.
“Working with Zen has been an eye opening experience. During the intake process, which is sophisticated without being overly complicated, I was given time to more closely examine some of my ideas and goals. Upon our first meeting together, we were able to identify new items that were not immediately recognized by me and helped to clarify and rearrange some of my priorities. In our conversations, it quickly became apparent that Zen has had many life experiences, both personal and professional, that give him wonderful insight and allow him to relate to all types of people on different levels. It has been a pleasure working with Zen and I look forward to our continued coaching sessions.”—Rico N.

“Simply put, you’re the best life and business coach I’ve ever experienced. Always stimulating my process and my path in life and business, you make things clear as you explain a multidimensional picture of life. You really helped and supported me in creating change in my life, nurturing and universally accepting of me. I’ve known a lot of people in my life, 25 years in the Insurance business, who claim to be coaches. They don’t hold a candle to you, Zen.”—Mark F.
