About. Silver Star Stables’ trainer and instructor, Melissa, has plenty of experience riding and showing horses—over 40 years worth! Specifically, Melissa has trained American Saddlebred, Morgans, and Hackney Ponies, and she’s spent years advancing her skills and making sure both rider and horse have a successful, positive experience. And when it comes to horse and rider, Melissa has the skills needed to create teams that both look great together and work like a perfect team!

Assistant trainer and instructor, Lora, has also spent years around horses. In fact, she’s been in her family’s business since she was a little girl, and in 2024—when Silver Stables began—Lora began helping her aunt by both working horses and giving lessons. Lora is always happy to work with younger students and Tiny-Tots, where she makes sure these kiddos have a strong foundation so that they can go on to become capable, confident riders.

Safety First! Silver Star Stables has a lot of kids who comprise their clientele, so their main focus is to make sure kids have fun riding their horse in a safe way! This means that lessons aren’t a free-for-all, as your child will experience high-quality lessons that focus on safety and proper horsemanship. And it’s all done in a welcoming, enjoyable atmosphere.

Lessons. Silver Star Stables offers lessons that are suited for anyone! They offer pony rides for children under 4 and Tiny-Tot lessons for kids ages 4-6. Have an older child who could use lessons? Silver Star Stables also provides group and double riding lessons, which includes ride time AND the experience of grooming the horse. If your child is inexperienced with horses, then beginner lessons are a great option, with classes starting on a lunge line. For students ages 7+ (adults included!), private, one-on-one instructions are a wonderful opportunity to grow your skills.

Ladies Night. While Silver Star Stables has plenty of kid clients, they’re happy to help adults learn how to ride and enjoy horses, too. In fact, Silver Star Stables periodically hosts Ladies Night get-togethers. These Ladies Nights feature snacks, plus you can bring your own drinks—for after riding, of course, because safety comes first!

Horse Training. Silver Star Stables also does horse training! They specialize in American Saddlebreds and Arabians, but if you have a different breed, no worries. Silver Star Stables can also work with different breeds, so if you have another horse that needs a refresher course, they can handle that, too.
