About. Joe Czerwinski, Focus Climbing Center’s owner, has been climbing since 1993. What started out as a hobby soon turned into a career for Joe, and before long he’d worked for every climbing gym in the Valley. Over time, though, Joe got tired of working for people who don’t care about climbing. So Joe decided to start his own business!
These days, Joe is honored that Focus Climbing Center is the premier place in Mesa for indoor rock climbing. He’s also pleased to remain active in the rock climbing community, route setting for international events like the Asian X-Games and Junior X-Games. Joe has even route set for some of the biggest production level events in Asia and North America, having worked with the likes of ESPN, NBC, Disney, and others. Whether he’s in the gym or route setting, though, Joe’s dedication to and enthusiasm for his craft is inspiring!
