“It’s Your Money – Spend It In Mesa.”
101 Polo Club. If you’re looking for a polo club that is equipped with a boarding facility, lessons, clinics, and riding lessons, your search is now over! 101 Polo Club in Mesa, Arizona, has all your polo needs covered.
How it Began. 101 Polo Club’s owner, Dan Faherty, began playing polo through a business relationship. One of Dan’s sales rep’s parents had a grass field in El Paso, so they took him out there and showed him how to play. Immediately, Dan says he was “hooked.” That month (and 6 months later), Dan and his sons bought a horse. At first, Dan was growing alfalfa, and it started from there. The Faherty family moved back to Arizona, and they met a lot of folks in the local polo scene.
101 Polo Club began as a way to fill the void in the Arizona polo field. The Fahertys moved in 2014, and everyone was playing polo together, and everything was thriving. Then a few families moved away, and some clubs just shut down. Dan and his sons are so passionate about polo, as it’s been a great family sport—it’s given them purpose every day. It’s taught them invaluable lessons, like work ethic and how to care for horses. It also gave Dan a classroom for teaching his sons—and other children—responsibility, work ethics, and the basics of running a business. So Dan and his family ended up building a new polo club with a boarding facility. Plus, 101 Polo Club offers classes, lessons, clinics, and riding lessons!
Weddings and Events. Today, 101 Polo Club has expanded to offer a wedding venue. Even if you’re not celebrating a wedding, you can still use 101 Polo Club for an event venue.
Uplifting Children. 101 Polo Club’s main mission is to uplift kids. 101 Polo Club gives kids who may not have the opportunity to be around horses exposure to the equines. What’s more, they’ve launched a monthly open house. It’s been a great hit, and now they’ll be doing that every month. 101 Polo Club also has a work-to-ride program. What does the program entail? It’s a discounted program that gives 101 Polo Club the opportunity to work one-on-one with the kids, helping them build character, confidence, and responsibility.
A Non-Profit Mission. 101 Polo Club is also a non-profit mission! Since polo is an amateur sport, they’re allowed to organize the business as a non-profit. This allows 101 Polo Club to be a platform that other non-profits can use for their fundraising/donation events. In fact, 101 Polo Club just took on an intern whose passion is to create her own non-profit for people who have PTSD or anyone struggling with issues to help them learn trust and faith by interacting with horses—like a therapy program! By uplifting other non-profits, 101 Polo Club can have events and fellow non-profits can use their venue, sport, or non-profit status to host fundraisers, silent auctions, etc.
Services. 101 Polo Club is more than just a polo club—they have a lot of services that they provide! For example, they’ll be starting kid summer camps in June. What’s more, 101 Polo Club is a family environment that is inclusive and welcoming. Some people may erroneously think that polo is just for the rich, but 101 Polo Club is breaking down those stigmas to show that it’s affordable for everyone! 101 Polo Club services include:

“Thank you all for making my daughters wedding a beautiful memory. Everyone was so helpful, hard working and the food cooked for the wedding rehearsal was amazing!” -Rhonda C.
“After another stable cancelled our reservation for mother’s day, we called close to 10 places to see who could save the day and get us a trail ride that morning, Dan at the 101 polo club saved the day for sure. He got us in same day and we had an amazing experience, his horses were very well taken care of, and easy to ride. Definitely recommended” -Stacy S.
“Amazing place to do trail rides, lessons, board horses, and events!” -MerriLyn S.
“I can’t say enough about this group of people. They are friendly, attentive, and dedicated to growing polo in Arizona. Dan and his boys are an asset to the club and we are lucky to have such a great group of people here in Arizona to continue growing polo. If you are looking to play polo this is an amazing place. The horses are well cared for, the instruction is one on one and the matches and fun. This was my first year playing with 101 and they helped me improve my game. I have purchased two of my best horses from Dan after playing them during the season and have taken advantage of all the pro players he brings into town to improve your skills.” -Amelia P.
