Meet the Owner: Born and raised in Arizona, Athena Hatch developed a love of sewing and working with fabrics at a young age. After high school, her first job was at a drapery workroom sewing window treatments in downtown Mesa. After earning her Associate of Arts degree from MCC, Athena soon married her husband John. When their son was born, Athena wanted to be a stay-at-home mom. So she did window treatments as a side business out of her house, and it kept growing by word of mouth. This developed into a full time business.

Now 35 years later, Athena employees six seamstresses, some who have been there over 20 years. They also employee several installers, and John does the woodworking and builds cornice boxes. Athena says it’s unique to have their own drapery workroom inside a retail store. Patrons can actually see their window treatments being made.
